Users page - Managing users, roles and groups
The Users page is used to manage who can access your Quickchannel account and what they are allowed to access.
Use this page to manage Console users, SSO users, Groups and API users.
Go to Settings → Users.
The page is divided into four areas: Console Users, SSO Users, Groups and API Users.
Console Users
The Console Users tab contains users who have an email login (without SSO) to the Quickchannel Console.
From here, administrators can add users, assign roles and Groups, activate or deactivate users and manage existing user accounts.
Use Add User to invite a new user by entering their email address, name, role and any Groups they should belong to.
For more information about adding, removing and managing users, see Manage users.
User roles
Each user has a Role that determines what they are allowed to do in Quickchannel.
Available roles include Administrator, Publisher, User, Producer and Read Only.
Use User Roles to compare the permissions available to each role.
For a detailed explanation of the roles and their permissions, see User roles in the Console.
User actions
The Actions menu provides additional options for managing an individual user, including editing their profile, resetting their password or MFA, reassigning their media and removing the user.
If a user owns media, that media must be reassigned before the user can be removed.
For information about setting up and resetting MFA, see Multi-factor authentication (MFA).
SSO Users
The SSO Users tab shows users who access the Quickchannel Console through a configured Single Sign-On (SSO) connection.
SSO authentication is configured under Settings → Integrations → Single Sign-On.
Quickchannel supports several SSO configurations. For setup instructions, see Entra ID / Azure AD SSO for Quickchannel Console, SAML2 idP for Quickchannel Console or OIDC OpenID Connect for Quickchannel Console.
Groups
Groups are used to control which categories and media users can access.
A Group can contain multiple users and define access to categories using three levels:
- Manage media – users can view and manage media within the category.
- View media – users can view media within the category but cannot add, remove or edit it.
- Own media – users can only access media they own within the category.
Category access can be configured individually for each category and its subcategories.
A user's Role and Group access work together but serve different purposes: the Role determines what the user can do, while Group access determines which categories and media the user can access and manage.

API Users
The API Users tab shows virtual users intended for API-based integrations rather than normal Console access.
API users can represent users from another system and can own media, but they do not have a Console user role.
API users are managed through the Quickchannel REST API.
For more information, see API Users.
