Go to Settings → Live.

Use this page to:

General defaults

General defaults control which features are enabled automatically when a new live event is created.

You can configure defaults for:

  • Recording
  • Time shift
  • Low-latency streaming
  • Chat
  • Message approval
  • Live captions

Changing these settings does not change existing live events.

For event-specific configuration, see Live: How to setup an event.

Related features are described in:

Registration defaults

Registration defaults control the registration settings applied when a new live event is created.

You can configure the default registration method, select which information viewers should provide, and make fields mandatory or optional.

You can also configure custom input fields and registration terms and conditions.

These settings can be changed for individual live events. Additional registration methods and integrations may also be available when configuring an event.

See Live: How to setup an event for event configuration and Customizing the registration page for registration page customization.

Live Channels

Live Channels are the streaming inputs used by live events.

The Live Channels overview shows the channels available on the account, their channel type, and how many channels are currently in use.

Click Add Channel to create a new Live Channel.

Depending on your account configuration, available channel types can include:

  • Push
  • Pull
  • Bypass
  • Dual – Push

For information about creating channels and choosing a channel type, see Setup live channels.

When a channel is assigned to a live event, the encoder connects to Quickchannel using the ingest information provided for that event and channel.

See Streaming to a live channel for information about connecting an encoder.

Schedule

The Schedule shows Live Channel usage for a selected date range.

Use the Schedule when planning live events to see when channels are already scheduled and identify available capacity.

The schedule provides an account-wide overview, making it easier to avoid scheduling conflicts when multiple live events use the available Live Channels.
