Subtitles page - Configuring subtitle and transcription defaults
The Subtitles page contains the account-wide default settings for subtitles and automatic transcription in Quickchannel.
Go to Settings → Subtitles.
Use this page to configure how subtitles are generated and displayed by default. These settings can be adjusted for individual media when needed.
Subtitle defaults
The subtitle settings control the default formatting of subtitles generated in Quickchannel.
You can configure:
- Minimum duration – the minimum amount of time a subtitle is displayed.
- Maximum duration – the maximum amount of time a subtitle is displayed.
- Maximum characters per line – limits the number of characters displayed on each subtitle line.
These settings help maintain consistent subtitle formatting across your media.
Automatic transcription
Configure the default language and behavior used when automatically transcribing media.
The Default transcription language determines which language is selected by default when transcription is created.
You can also configure whether subtitles should be visible by default and whether newly uploaded media should be automatically transcribed.
Individual media can use different transcription and subtitle settings when needed.
AI Dictionary
The AI Dictionary can improve automatic transcription by providing words or phrases that may otherwise be difficult for the transcription service to recognize.
This can be useful for:
- Company and product names
- Industry-specific terminology
- Names of people or places
- Abbreviations and uncommon words
Add relevant terms to the dictionary to help improve transcription accuracy across the account.
The AI Dictionary supports up to 500 characters.
Changes to the AI Dictionary affect future automatic transcriptions and do not modify subtitles that have already been generated.
