Security page - Configuring default media access restrictions

The Security page contains the account-wide default settings used to control viewer access to media in Quickchannel.

Go to Settings → Security.

Use this page to configure default access restrictions for new media. These settings can be adjusted for individual media when different access requirements are needed.

Quick Links

Quick Links provide a simple way to share media using a generated link.

The Time-based security setting controls the default validity period used when new time-limited Quick Links are created.

Individual links can be configured with a different validity period when needed.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

SSO restrictions can be used to require viewers to authenticate through a configured Single Sign-On provider before accessing protected media.

When SSO protection is enabled, you can also restrict access to specific SSO groups.

If multiple groups are configured, a viewer only needs to belong to one of the specified groups to gain access.

If no groups are specified, successful authentication through the configured SSO provider is sufficient.

SSO providers and integrations are configured separately under Settings → Integrations.

Domain restrictions

Domain restrictions control which websites are allowed to embed and play your media.

Add the domains that should be allowed to display protected media.

This is useful when media should only be available through approved websites rather than embedded on external sites.

Keep in mind that domain restrictions can also affect other ways of accessing the media, such as Quick Links and Videosites. Make sure any domains used to provide access to the media are included when configuring the restriction.

IP restrictions

IP restrictions allow media access to be limited to specified IP addresses or IP ranges.

This can be useful when media should only be accessible from a specific organization, office or network.

Add the IP addresses or ranges that should be allowed access.

Account-level IP restrictions can also affect access through Videosites.

Geolocking

Geolocking controls access based on the viewer's geographical location.

Use the country selection to define where protected media can be viewed.

Geolocking can be used when content should only be available in selected countries or regions.

Account defaults and individual media

Settings configured on the Security page act as account-wide defaults for media access.

When individual media requires different access rules, its security settings can be changed separately without changing the account defaults.

This makes it possible to use a standard security configuration across the account while applying stricter or different restrictions to specific media when needed.

These restrictions control viewer access to published media. Access to media and functionality within Console is managed separately through user roles and Group access.
