Selecting a date range and filters

In Top List, Performance, Viewers and Usage, the controls at the top of the page let you select the period and filter the statistics you want to review. Overview provides a summary for the last 30 days.

Date range

Use the date field to select a specific period, or choose an option from the date-range menu:

  • Last 24h, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days or Last 90 Days
  • Last week or This week
  • Yesterday or Today
  • Fixed Period

[Screenshot: Expanded date-range menu showing the available presets and date selection field.]

Time-based charts in Performance, Viewers and Usage display data in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Keep this in mind when comparing statistics with events or reports that use your local time zone.

Filters

FilterPurpose
MediaFocus on a specific media item. This is required to display Viewer Retention.
IdentifierFilter statistics by the unique identifier assigned to a player instance.
CategoryFocus on a content category.
TypeSelect Video on demand, Live events, Audio or Images.
CountryFocus on viewing activity associated with a country.
Device TypeSelect one or more device types: Desktop, Mobile or Tablet.
image

Identifier is useful when the same media is embedded in multiple places and you want to distinguish the statistics for those player instances. The identifier is configured when generating the embed code. See Media publish page for details.

When comparing results, use the same date range and filters so that the figures cover the same selection.

Understanding the main metrics

Several sections use the same metrics. Understanding the differences helps you interpret the results correctly.

MetricMeaning
ImpressionsNumber of times the media was shown, whether playback started or not. Repeated impressions are counted.
ViewsNumber of times playback started. Multiple views from the same person are counted.
Unique ViewersNumber of distinct viewers who watched media. A viewer is counted once per day in daily statistics and once during the selected date range in the total.
Viewed TimeTotal accumulated time the media was watched by all viewers combined.
Average % ViewedAverage time viewers watched the media, expressed as a percentage of the total media duration.
Viewer RetentionPercentage of viewers who watched each part of the media, showing where viewers stopped watching.

For example, someone can load a page containing a player without starting playback. This generates an impression, but no view. If the same person returns and starts playback on separate visits, they can generate multiple views.

Viewed Time adds together the time watched by everyone. If ten viewers each watch two minutes, the total viewed time is twenty minutes.

Overview

Select Overview for a summary of the last 30 days.

The page contains six cards, each with a value and a chart:

  • Views — total views.
  • Viewed Time (h) — total viewing time.
  • Unique Viewers — total unique viewers.
  • Engagement (%) — average engagement.
  • Streaming (GB) — streaming usage.
  • Storage (GB) — storage usage.

Use this page for a quick check of activity, then open the relevant section to explore the figures in more detail.

Top List

Select Top List to compare results by Media, Categories or Domains.

All three tabs display Views, Impressions, Viewed time and Average percentage viewed. Use the sorting controls beside Views, Impressions or Viewed time to change the order.

These metrics answer different questions: views show how often playback starts, viewed time shows total consumption, and average percentage viewed shows how much of the content viewers watch on average.

Media

The Media tab displays the Top 100 media, including each item’s rank, title, category and viewing statistics.

Use this list to compare individual media items within the selected period. Use the page numbers below the table to browse the results.

A video with many views does not necessarily have the most viewed time. A longer video with fewer views may accumulate more viewing time than a short video with many views.

Categories

The Categories tab displays the Top 100 categories and their viewing statistics.

Subcategories are shown with their category path, such as Examples → Short. Content without a category is listed under No category.

Use this tab to compare activity across groups of content.

Domains

The Domains tab displays the Top 100 domains, grouping statistics by the websites where your media is shown.

[Screenshot: Domains tab showing example domains and their viewing statistics. Use public or demo domains.]

Use it to compare viewing activity across different websites. A domain may have impressions without views if the media was shown but playback did not start.

Performance

Select Performance to explore viewing activity and engagement through four tabs: Views, Viewed Time, Viewer Retention and Average % Viewed.

Views

The Views tab displays:

  • Total views – Live & VOD
  • Total views – Live
  • Total views – VOD

VOD means video on demand.

The chart shows views over time, with separate series for Live and Video on demand. Use it to identify periods of increased activity and compare live viewing with on-demand viewing.

Views count playback starts rather than distinct people. Use Viewers → Unique Viewers when you want to understand how many different viewers watched.

Viewed Time

Viewed Time shows the total accumulated viewing time across all viewers.

The summary displays combined Live & VOD viewing time and separate totals for Live and VOD. Summary values are displayed using an appropriate time unit, while the chart's time scale is displayed in hours.

The chart shows viewing time over the selected period, with separate series for live and on-demand viewing.

Viewer Retention

Viewer Retention shows which parts of a media item viewers watched and where they stopped watching.

To display retention data:

  1. Open Viewer Retention.
  2. Select a media item using the Media filter.
  3. Choose the date range you want to review.

A media item must be selected before retention data can be shown.

When media is selected, the summary displays retention for Live & VOD, Live and VOD, while the chart shows how viewer retention changes throughout the media

If the media contains chapters, they are also displayed in the retention chart. This makes it easier to see how viewer retention changes between chapters and identify which parts of the media attracted or retained the most viewers.

image

Use retention to understand where viewers leave during playback. Average % Viewed provides an overall measure, while Viewer Retention helps you see how viewing is distributed across the media.

Average % Viewed

Average % Viewed shows how much of the media viewers watched on average.

For a media item, the calculation is:

Average % Viewed = Total viewed time ÷ (Number of views × Media duration) × 100

For example, a ten-minute video with ten views and fifty minutes of total viewed time has an average percentage viewed of 50%.

The summary displays values for Live & VOD, Live and VOD. The chart shows changes over the selected period.

A value of 50% does not mean that every viewer stopped halfway through. Some may have watched the entire video, while others watched only a small part.

The value can exceed 100% when viewers manually replay the media or seek back and watch parts again. Automatic looping does not increase engagement.

Viewers

Select Viewers to explore unique viewer counts and viewing statistics by country.

Unique Viewers

The Unique Viewers tab shows how many distinct viewers watched media each day.

The daily counts and the total for the selected period are calculated differently:

  • Daily unique viewers: Each viewer is counted once per day, even if they watch multiple times that day.
  • Total unique viewers: Each viewer is counted once across the entire selected date range.

For example, a person who watches on Monday and Tuesday counts as one unique viewer on each day, but only one unique viewer for a period covering both days.

Adding the daily counts does not give the total unique viewers for the period, because the same viewers may appear on multiple days.

Demographics

The Demographics tab presents viewing statistics by country through a map, a pie chart and a table.

The table includes:

  • Rank
  • Country
  • Views
  • Impressions
  • Viewed Time
  • Average percentage viewed
image

Use this tab to compare viewing activity and engagement across countries. The Views column represents playback starts rather than unique viewers.

Usage

Select Usage to review Streaming, Storage and AI Tokens.

These tabs show usage for the current account and across your accounts, together with the resources included in your contract.

Streaming

The Streaming tab shows the data used for media streaming.

The summary includes:

ValueMeaning
Used streaming this accountStreaming usage for the current account.
Used streaming all accountsCombined streaming usage across your accounts.
Contracted streaming all accountsThe monthly streaming allowance in your current contract, shared across your accounts.

The Total Used Streaming chart shows usage over time. Its legend distinguishes Account usage from Customer usage across your accounts.

Streaming usage measures transferred data. It is different from Viewed Time, which measures how long viewers watched.

Storage

The Storage tab shows storage usage for the current account and across your accounts.

The summary displays:

  • Peak storage this account
  • Peak storage all accounts
  • Contracted storage all accounts

Storage is measured using peak values:

  • Each daily value represents the highest storage usage during that day.
  • The total represents the highest storage usage within the selected date range.

For example, if daily peak storage is 100 GB, 120 GB and 110 GB over three days, the period’s peak is 120 GB. The daily values are not added together.

The Total Used Storage chart shows storage usage over time. Its legend distinguishes Account usage from Customer usage across your accounts.

The contracted storage allowance is shared across your accounts.

AI Tokens

The AI Tokens tab shows AI token usage for the current account and across your accounts.

The summary displays:

  • Used AI tokens this account
  • Used AI tokens all accounts
  • Contracted AI tokens all accounts

The Used AI tokens chart shows usage over time, with separate series for This account and All accounts.

[Screenshot: AI Tokens tab showing usage for this account, all accounts, contracted AI tokens and the chart.]

The contracted AI token allowance is shared across your accounts.

Usage periods and contracted values

The selected date range determines the usage period you are reviewing. Contracted values always reflect your current contract, even when you select a historical date range.

A historical report therefore shows usage from that period alongside your current allowance, rather than the allowance that applied at the time.

Exporting data

Use Export, where available, to download statistics for further analysis or reporting.

Depending on the view, the menu provides:

OptionOutput
Export to ExcelAn Excel workbook (.xlsx).
Export to CSVA CSV file.
Export all series to ExcelAn Excel workbook containing all chart series.
Export all series to CSVA CSV file containing all chart series.

[Screenshot: Expanded Export menu showing Excel, CSV and the Export all series options.]

The Export all series options are available in supported charts with multiple series, such as live and on-demand data. Other views, including Unique Viewers and Demographics, offer the standard Excel and CSV options.

Before exporting, select the date range and apply the filters you need. Active filters also apply to the exported data.
