You can download video files directly from Quickchannel Console, automate downloads using the REST API, or allow viewers to download videos through Videosite.

Download via Console

1. Open Console → Media.
2. Select the video you want to download.
3. Open Information and scroll to Formats.
4. Choose the desired file version and click its Download icon.

Available formats are divided into two sections:

• Original – The original source file, if it is stored on your account.
• Transcoded – Video formats generated by Quickchannel for playback.

Each available format displays information such as resolution, frame rate, bitrate and file size.

You can also use the Download icon directly below the video player on the Overview page.

Original files

Downloading the original source file is recommended when you need to edit the video or use it in external software.

Original files are only available if source file storage is enabled on your account.

For more information about storing original files, contact your Customer Success representative or Quickchannel Support.

Using downloaded files in external software

Some downloaded HLS formats may not be fully compatible with third-party video applications.

If you experience problems importing or editing a downloaded file, see Using downloaded files in external programs.

Download via REST API

For automated downloads or downloading larger numbers of videos, you can use the Quickchannel REST API.

REST API access may need to be enabled for your account. Contact your Customer Success representative for more information.

Download via Videosite

If your account uses Videosite, you can allow viewers to download videos directly from the Videosite interface.
